Beautiful Bath: Day 2

My sister dragged me to a couple of shops, including 'Pug and Puffin'. She conveniently didn't tell me beforehand that it's a dog gift shop. She doesn't have a dog... Fake snow outside the shop kept me content, as well as a fossil and craft stand in the market.

Pug and Puffin.

Fake, foamy snow outside Pug and Puffin.

Megalodon (literally 'giant tooth') is an extinct species of shark which lived from 2.3-2.6 million ya. Grew to 60 ft in length and weighed up to 70 tonnes- larger than a T. rex!
My choice of places was the Botanical Gardens. I'm not going to pretend the journey was a breeze; I'm sure I heard my sister growl whilst climbing up muddy paths. I admit, I did make us trek through a load of allotments, only to find a closed gate the other end. Nonetheless, I survived in my wedges and so did Tia (in her flats).
Finally, we found green (as oppose to brown mud). I won't attempt to describe the Botanical Gardens but instead, please see my sketches and photos below...

Bath WI Garden: a community garden which is made entirely of edible plants and flowers.

I saw some Blackbirds in a Rowan tree, and could see they had dark bills, but did not have my binoculars. They could have been continential birds with black bills or last year's males with brown bills who don't get yellow/orange bills until early spring. A small proportion of male Blackbirds get red beaks, which are perhaps older or could be due to individual variation.
The Robins were very loud in the gardens, and each individual had it's own territory, as I heard/saw whilst walking the circular path around the gardens. I'm sure I found more Robins than I recorded but anyway here are the birds I saw...

Squirrels were everywhere!

Wood pigeons, crows, squirrels and magpies huddled around a tree.

A Green Crab spider that fell on my notepad!

I hope you enjoyed skimming through my adventures in Bath!
